Álvaro Álvarez del Río
Managing Partner
I am fascinated by human behaviour and enjoy the never-ending challenge of understanding what makes people tick. Meeting extremely ambitious entrepreneurs with outlandish visions is my intellectual passion. The best part of my job is trying to help those entrepreneurs define growth strategies for the products that will shape our future.
Before I started Boost Capital Partners I spent 12 years as a Partner at Swordfish Investments and Initial Capital where I invested in 80 software start-ups, sat on 25 Boards, advised 5 companies and 1 fund. At the beginning of my career I was a private equity analyst and investment banker at Goldman Sachs and UBS. When I am not behind a screen I am likely to be running competitively or playing football.
Benjamín Torrero

I’m driven by helping people who are solving the most important problems for people’s lives. Whether it’s helping others to improve their mental health, solving some inefficiency in the healthcare system or allowing access to credit for those who need it, I’m all in. I’m also passionate about finding how to apply insights in human behavior to all things product.
Before joining Boost Capital Partners I started and led an Angel Syndicate to find and invest in people solving inefficiencies in Latam and worked 5 years as a (now in recovery) financial lawyer. On any given day you’ll probably find me looking for the best coffee in town or reading in a park.

I’m driven by the dynamic startup landscape and the potential for technology to unlock new opportunities. Before joining Boost Capital, I spent 10+ years working at Google and Meta helping web/app developers and content creators increase both reach and monetization across these platforms. In addition, I am an active angel investor in various startups and served as a mentor with incubator programs such as Antler.
I love all kinds of team sports and multiplayer online games as I really enjoy being part of a community that is bigger than myself and because it is much more fun when you share those experiences.
Larissa Mansur

An optimist at heart, I believe that entrepreneurship and technology are the driving forces of progress in our society. Thus, what I’m most excited about what I do is the opportunity to support mission-driven founders in their quest to solve their customer’s biggest problems. I got to do this in my previous experience, leading and growing communities of founders and angel investors across Latin America while working in Latitud.
My background as an operator ranges from roles across product marketing, expansion, BD, and operations – from bootstrapped companies to non-profits. I’ve consistently built and managed high-performing, multicultural teams, and any conversation around people and performance gets me excited. Outside of work, you can find me practicing yoga or reading about philosophy, management, or technology.

The part of the job I enjoy the most is working with founders who are obsessed with their users’ behavior, particularly when they use that knowledge to create habit loops to solve big problems in underloved markets.
Prior to launching Boost Capital Partners I worked for Activision Publishing and advised and invested as an angel in early-stage startups, while doing an MBA in MIT Sloan. Before that I was a credit investor and investment banker at Algebris Investments, Blackstone and Credit Suisse. I am an avid history, economics, behavioral science and gaming hobbyist, but I particularly love an AoE2 competitive match to get the neurons running.

What I love the most about my job is being able to work with early-stage founders, understanding their business´challenges and helping them by providing insightful and strategic feedback, and opening every door that I possibly can.
Prior to joining Boost Capital Partners, I´ve been an active early-stage investor in Latam as a Partner at Kalei Ventures and as an active angel investor. Before that, I led product development at LendingFront (a NYC-based Fintech SAAS startup) and worked for over a decade in commercial banking in Argentina, focused on business development and product roles.
I´m crazy about music, an amateur guitar player, and love playing live gigs. Ex-soccer player, now a dedicated swimmer and an evolving padel player.
